Anime and manga fans have been highly impressed by a free Attack on Titan multiplayer video game, which has gone viral since its release.
Video game developer Swammy recently released the latest build of his currently-in-development Attack on Titan video game. Developed on Unreal Engine 5, the fan-made game lets players fight against the Titan menace alone or with friends through its new peer-to-peer multiplayer system, allowing up to eight people to participate. Swammy additionally claimed he was working on future updates for the fan project, with the developer revealing plans for at least four major content updates, in addition to more playable characters from the beloved manga-turned-anime series.
Why Attack on Titan’s Sasha Braus Would Have Been a Perfect Shonen Protagonist
As a minor character in Attack on Titan, Sasha doesn’t turn too many heads – but she has the makings of a classic shonen main character.
Attack on Titan fans were astonished and delighted by the quality of Swammy’s one-man project. Many users expressed their gratitude to the developer for creating the game and releasing it for free. They were also thankful for the many improvements Swammy has made to the game’s mechanics since it was first revealed in 2021, such as a larger character roster, a more responsive ODM gear and improved graphic quality on the Unreal Engine. Some fans also speculated on the possibility of adding several features, including a campaign or scenarios reenacting some of the most famous battles seen in the franchise’s source material.
Attack on Titan The Final Chapters
Attack on Titan is a manga series written and illustrated by mangaka Hajime Isayama, which ran from 2009 to 2021. The series takes place in a world overrun by Titans — man-eating giants who have trapped the remainder of humanity behind three giant walls. The series is arguably one of the most popular manga of the modern era, with over 110 million copies sold at the time of writing. Attack on Titan also released as an anime adaptation in 2013, airing the TV series’ highly anticipated final episode in November 2023.
Attack on Titan Takes Off in New Plane Collaboration
Attack on Titan collaborates with Japanese airline Star Flyer for the new “Attack on Titan Special Jet” that lifted off this month.
A synopsis for the series reads, “Known in Japan as Shingeki no Kyojin, many years ago, the last remnants of humanity were forced to retreat behind the towering walls of a fortified city to escape the massive, man-eating Titans that roamed the land outside their fortress. Only the heroic members of the Scouting Legion dared to stray beyond the safety of the walls — but even those brave warriors seldom returned alive. Those within the city clung to the illusion of a peaceful existence until the day that dream was shattered, and their slim chance at survival was reduced to one horrifying choice: kill — or be devoured!”
The Attack on Titan manga is available to read on Viz Media, with the anime adaptation available to stream on Crunchyroll
