Minecraft Player Spends 700 Hours Building USS Eclipse from Star Trek
One imaginative Minecraft player takes advantage of the game’s building mechanics to make the USS Eclipse ship from Star Trek.
Minecraft player Jinx-in-stars shared a look at the beautiful lighthouse they made in the game based on a drawing of the same structure. The lighthouse is their first-ever build in the game and masterfully showcases many of the finer details of the sketch. As with most lighthouses, the central structure is a large tower, topped off with a slanting conical roof and glowing fog light. Red and white strips give a classic appearance to the central tower and show off the different materials used to make the lighthouse.
At the base of the lighthouse, a wooden shack entry is illuminated by the same glowing blocks as the fog light. A walkway leads down from the shack towards a lower stone pier. Various stone blocks were used to give the pier a weathered appearance, perfectly capturing the essence of an old lighthouse. From the water basin surrounding the pier to the bits of greenery growing up towards the lighthouse, this wonderful 3D recreation of a drawing is an admirable addition to the expanding library of beautiful Minecraft fan builds.
