Remnant 2
The sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes, Gunfire’s Remnant 2 is a Soulslike RPG that primarily plays like a third-person shooter. Focusing on co-op while still supporting single-player, the game features hard-as-nails bosses, an upgrade system, multiple classes with their own abilities, and dynamically generated dungeons that enhance replayability.
The game is the sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes which was released in August of 2019. It is a souls-like action RPG with a co-op element that makes it more enjoyable with friends. The game currently resides on the Steam store with very positive reviews. At the time of release, its minimum requirements were an Intel Core i3-7350K (4.20 GHz) and an AMD Radeon RX 470. The recommended requirements were an Intel Core i5-4590 (3.70 GHz) or better and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 970. According to the game’s specifications from the Steam store page, we can see that to have a great experience with Remnant 2, gamers do not need top-tier hardware. While Gunfire Games has not shared the performance numbers/ framerates on different resolutions, the aforementioned specifications are likely for playing the game at 1080p. The 16GB RAM is pretty standard these days and so is the 80GB available space, seeing as how games have been getting ridiculously huge.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Remnant 2 will support DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) 2 along with a bunch of new and upcoming games. Those looking to make use of the latest DLSS 3 tech on their RTX 40 series cards will be disappointed, for now at least. Who knows if the tech is implemented into the game with a future update?
More details about the game and its performance can be expected in the coming days. Meanwhile, Gunfire Games is running a sweepstake in partnership with Alienware till September 30. One lucky winner can take home the Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor AW2523HF which costs $450. To enter, users must visit https://remnantgame.com/en/giveaway and submit an entry.
