It took 11 innings, but LSU has done it. Tigers star Tommy White stepped up to the plate and crushed a two-run walk-off homer.
LSU beats No. 1 Wake Forest 2-0, and advances to the Men’s College World Series finals.
A pitching clinic from starters to the bullpen pushed this semifinals matchup into extra innings. The Tigers posted five hits while the Demon Deacons posted just three. Paul Skenes pitched eight innings for LSU and recorded nine strikeouts.
Before the 11th inning, the last hit was in the fifth.
LSU came out of the losers’ bracket all the way to the finals. Wake Forest beat the Tigers, but in the next two matchups, LSU caught them.
Now, LSU will face Florida in an all-SEC MCWS finals on Saturday, June 24 at 7 p.m. ET.
