Online rapid vehicle buy-and-sell platform CARS24 is expanding down under, building Australia’s largest Mega Refurbishment Lab, with a five-million-dollar investment to revolutionise the used car buying experience.
CARS24 is deepening its investment in the Australian market with the launch of Australia’s largest hi-tech Mega Refurbishment Lab (MRL). The MRL, a $5 million investment, will create up to 150 jobs in the automotive industry and provide end-to-end car refurbishments for CARS24 customers nationwide, guaranteeing quality, safety, and overall peace of mind at an affordable price.
The lab will be located on a five-acre site in Victoria’s Laverton and is the second facility established by CARS24 for the Australian market. At full scale, it will refurbish up to 1,200 cars to a like-new standard, all of which will have passed a 300-point inspection. By controlling the entire process at the new MRL, CARS24 customers can be certain of guaranteed quality and a stress-free buying experience.
CARS24 invests no less than $2,000 in each car to maintain strict mechanical standards and improve its appearance while keeping prices as competitive as possible, making it different from average car dealers who invest around $500 in refurbishing a car before sale with a 30% profit margin. The MRL is a crucial part of CARS24’s business model that prioritises providing value to consumers by making buying a used car as worthwhile and frictionless as possible.
CARS24 Australia CEO Olya Rudenko says, “The MRL concept fosters trust in our brand by ensuring high-quality cars, which are a non-negotiable part of our offering. Convenience is also vital, which is why we offer seven-day test drives delivered to your door, free of charge. If the car isn’t right for you, you can return it, no questions asked. This convenience, combined with the experience factor, makes for an exceptional customer experience.”
